Deterministic and ensemble systems ranked separately on precipitation volume, snow-level tracking and phase behaviour, with an event-only comparison and the lead-time sensitivity kept alongside the headline result.
9–10 August 2026 · forecast verification
Eight models scored against the alpine AWS network over one warm rain-on-snow event, on phase, rainfall and snow level separately. Two editions are retained; they differ in which gauges they admit, not in what they conclude.

One read-only comparison of ECMWF IFS, ECMWF AIFS and GFS against High Ridge and Mount Hotham observations. It is explicitly not a general model ranking.
